# Milestones

> Read milestones in Exsited: list them all, list them by account, labour or employee, or retrieve one.

Milestones mark progress points in Exsited work. You can list every milestone, list the milestones of one account, labour or employee, and retrieve one milestone. This area has 5 endpoints, each available in all seven SDKs.

## At a glance

| Endpoint | Method | Path | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| [List milestones](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/milestones/list-milestones.md) | GET | `/milestones` | Lists milestones, one page at a time. |
| [List an account's milestones](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/milestones/list-an-accounts-milestones.md) | GET | `/milestones/account/{account_id}` | Lists the milestones that belong to one account. |
| [List a labour's milestones](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/milestones/list-a-labours-milestones.md) | GET | `/milestones/labour/{labour_id}` | Lists the milestones that belong to one labour. |
| [List an employee's milestones](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/milestones/list-an-employees-milestones.md) | GET | `/milestones/employee/{employee_code}` | Lists the milestones that belong to one employee, found by the employee's code. |
| [Retrieve a milestone](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/milestones/retrieve-a-milestone.md) | GET | `/milestones/{milestone_uuid}` | Retrieves one milestone by its `wfm_` id or its UUID. |

## Before you call

Register your API credentials once when your app starts, as shown in
[Authentication](https://exsited.mintlify.site/authentication.md). Every SDK sample on these pages then gets its client in one line.
With cURL, send the access token in an `Authorization` header: `Authorization: Bearer $ACCESS_TOKEN`.

## Things to know

* **The milestone calls only read.** This area has no create, update or delete call.
* **The employee route takes the employee's `code`.** Passing the `emp_` id returns `404`.
* **A single milestone is read by its `wfm_` id or its UUID.** A workflow's milestone definition is a different record and returns `404`.
* **The listings return `data` and `pagination`.** An account, labour or employee with no milestones returns an empty `data` list.
