# Inventory adjustments

> List the stock changes made to every item in every warehouse, and read one inventory adjustment by its id.

An inventory adjustment records one change to an item's stock in a warehouse, such as stock added through the item's inventory endpoints. These endpoints list adjustments across all items and read one by its `id`. This area has 2 endpoints, each available in all seven SDKs.

## At a glance

| Endpoint | Method | Path | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| [List inventory adjustments](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/inventory-adjustments/list-inventory-adjustments.md) | GET | `/inventory_adjustments` | Returns a page of inventory adjustments across all items. |
| [Retrieve an inventory adjustment](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/inventory-adjustments/retrieve-an-inventory-adjustment.md) | GET | `/inventory_adjustments/{inventory_adjustment_id}` | Returns one inventory adjustment by its `id`. |

## Before you call

Register your API credentials once when your app starts, as shown in
[Authentication](https://exsited.mintlify.site/authentication.md). Every SDK sample on these pages then gets its client in one line.
With cURL, send the access token in an `Authorization` header: `Authorization: Bearer $ACCESS_TOKEN`.

## Things to know

* **Quantities are strings.** `adjustment_amount` and every `quantity_*` field arrive as text, so convert them before doing arithmetic.
* **Adjustments are read only.** These endpoints only read adjustments. One is created when stock is added through `POST /items/{item_id}/inventory/add`.
* **One adjustment comes back under `inventory_adjustment`.** The listing puts its records under `data`.
* **The listing pages by cursor.** Pass `limit`, then send the `next_cursor` from `pagination` as `cursor` until `has_more` is `false`.
