# Fulfillment terms

> List, read, create, update and delete fulfillment terms, each a named period and duration.

A fulfillment term is a named length of time, given as a `period` such as monthly and a `duration` counting those periods. These endpoints list, read, create, update and delete terms. This area has 5 endpoints, each available in all seven SDKs.

## At a glance

| Endpoint | Method | Path | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| [List fulfillment terms](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/fulfillment-terms/list-fulfillment-terms.md) | GET | `/settings/fulfillment_terms` | Returns a page of fulfillment terms. |
| [Create a fulfillment term](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/fulfillment-terms/create-a-fulfillment-term.md) | POST | `/settings/fulfillment_terms` | Creates a fulfillment term and returns it under `fulfillment_term`. |
| [Retrieve a fulfillment term](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/fulfillment-terms/retrieve-a-fulfillment-term.md) | GET | `/settings/fulfillment_terms/{fulfillment_term_id}` | Returns one fulfillment term by its `id`. |
| [Delete a fulfillment term](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/fulfillment-terms/delete-a-fulfillment-term.md) | DELETE | `/settings/fulfillment_terms/{fulfillment_term_id}` | Deletes a fulfillment term. A successful call returns `204` with no body. |
| [Update a fulfillment term](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/fulfillment-terms/update-a-fulfillment-term.md) | PATCH | `/settings/fulfillment_terms/{fulfillment_term_id}` | Changes a fulfillment term, or turns it on or off, and returns it. |

## Before you call

Register your API credentials once when your app starts, as shown in
[Authentication](https://exsited.mintlify.site/authentication.md). Every SDK sample on these pages then gets its client in one line.
With cURL, send the access token in an `Authorization` header: `Authorization: Bearer $ACCESS_TOKEN`.

## Things to know

* **`period` is sent in upper case and returned in lower case.** Send `MONTHLY`; the term comes back with `monthly`.
* **`duration` is an integer.** It counts the periods, so `period: MONTHLY` with `duration: 1` is one month.
* **`status` takes `active` or `inactive`.** Send it on the update to turn a term on or off.
* **Writes are wrapped in `fulfillment_term`, and one term comes back under `fulfillment_term`.**
* **The listing pages by cursor.** Pass `limit`, then send the `next_cursor` from `pagination` as `cursor` until `has_more` is `false`.
