# Account emails

> Delete an email from an account's email history.

An account keeps a history of the emails sent to or from it. This area deletes one email from that history; listing and reading emails are in Accounts. It has 1 endpoint, and every SDK supports it.

## At a glance

| Endpoint | Method | Path | What it does |
| - | - | - | - |
| [Delete an account email](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/account-emails/delete-an-account-email.md) | DELETE | `/accounts/{account_id}/communications/emails/{email_uuid}` | Deletes one email from an account's email history. |

## Before you call

Register your API credentials once when your app starts, as shown in
[Authentication](https://exsited.mintlify.site/authentication.md). Every SDK sample on these pages then gets its client in one line.
With cURL, send the access token in an `Authorization` header: `Authorization: Bearer $ACCESS_TOKEN`.

## Things to know

* **Identify the email by its `uuid`.** [List an account's emails](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/accounts/list-an-accounts-emails.md) returns each email's `uuid`.
* **Identify the account by its `id`.** The `id` is a short code such as `ACC0001`, not the account's `uuid`.
* **A successful delete returns `200`.** [Retrieve an email](https://exsited.mintlify.site/api-reference/accounts/retrieve-an-email.md) then returns `404` for that `uuid`.
